The gavel was handed over by immediate past-President Professor Zulma Quiñones from Puerto Rico. It is the first time that The Netherlands hold the ICSB Presidency. The ICSB Board is composed of 29 members from 15 different countries around the world. A professional International Office in Washington DC supports the Board. On 24 June 2008 Professor Charles Matthews (University of Cincinnati, USA) will take over the Presidency from Rob. ICSB is a worldwide organisation bringing together researchers, policymakers, practitioners and educators in the field of SMEs and entrepreneurship. Members are organised in one of the ten - geographically orientated - affiliates. ICSB's mission is being a physical and virtual meeting place of all those who engage themselves in SMEs and entrepreneurship. Important instruments are the annual world conferences, the website (www.icsb.org) and the Journal of Small Business Management, which is owned by ICSB. From 2003 until 2006 Rob van der Horst was Senior Vice-President Research and Publications of the ICSB Board. His major goals for 2007-2008 are: improving the content of the website, and establishing new affiliates in South Africa and India. |
